Current Configuration

Well, at present I am re-adjusting things in the lab. Most of the stuff will seem
the same but I am making a lot of changes in the infrastructure. Some of the stuff
I am still deciding how to configure to make it easier to deal with stuff for the
coming semester.

Web Service

The web server is now moved to nulla. I was having too much trouble
with it being run on one of the workstations. I am forwarding in two IP
addresses. One is on red1.cs.panam.edu for now. I am going to see
about how I am going to configure it because it is not real happy setting
up virtual hosting through the firewall. Of course it is quite possible I just
have it messed up. Will continue working on it. The only web stuff on it at
present is the CSRD site for the research day from Spring 2006.

Also I have set up a Zope server with Plone installed which at present is
coming in on several names. One is already set up for ACM on acm.cs.panam.edu
and it is just getting settled in. Another one is web.cs.panam.edu which is a
prototype for a new web site for the CS department. The third one you have
obviously found. It is this one. If you want one set up on this server, let me know.
(Sorry, CS people only.)

I want to set up one more service for those people who are wanting to work with
IIS. I am just not sure yet how and where I want it. More info when I get it decided.

Database Service

I moved the mysql server from basic to nulla as well. I believe I have postgres
running on it but I would have to go look. Not that important as most people
seem to be wanting to use MySQL for their projects.

At present we have a separate machine running Oracle and another with MS SQL Server.
I might consolidate them to another machine but I am still waiting on parts and
trying to decide how I am going to set it up for class projects.
